Favourite gaa player: Andy Moran. Got better with age.

 

Best player played with and against:

With. Conor Hallissey for his inspirational quotes during games and pin point accuracy on kick outs.

Favourite tv show: Has to be Game of Thrones.

 

Favourite food: Beef stew

 

Who is the joker in the team: Has to be Paddy. Mcgov is a close second.

 

Who is always late: Easy. Mcgov. Holds up everything.

 

Favourite manager to have played under: Lynch.

 

Best trainer: McGuigan/Niall

 

Worst Trainer: Has to go to Hallissey

 

Best thing about the GAA: The craic and mates you make.

 

Funniest thing you have seen during a match/game: Has to be watching Gartlan trying to score a point with his knee.

 

Motivational quote or advice that you would give to others: It's my last game. Seems to work.

Wing Back

Name: Shane Carty


Occupation: Quantity Surveyor

Favourite Playing position: On the side line abusing the lads for messing up especially Gav?...which in fairness is fairly regularly

 

least favourite: being that lad on the field getting hurled with sideline abuse?

 

Miss at home: Footing turf in the bog

To keep Peter Wallace and Cormac happy. I’d have to say Michael Murphy ?

 

Best player played with:

James Gartlan when he gets out of second gear!! The problem is it only usually happens as frequented a leap year sadly

Against: Cormac in a training match!! He only needs one crack At ya and ur ?...how he never made it as a MMA fighter I’ll never know

 

Tv show: Banged up abroad... waiting patiently to see which Joes lad will appear on it first as there are plenty of eligible men

 

Favourite food: steak and peppercorn sauce ?

Who is always late:
Me!!! No thanks to my chauffeur Eamonn Mc Govern! Only way he will ever be early for training is if it’s in his bed...Zzzz

 

Favourite manager: Has to be the player/manager role Cormac done with the joes reserves last year... although come to think of it I don’t think he made a game?... too busy flying home to be under the missus’ thumb

 

Best trainer: Has to be McGuigan! Is he ever not training

 

Worst trainer:
ha there is too many to mention here but Hallisey, coughlin and “my leg hurts Wallace” are fairly on par... they appear to take it night about. They must be loving the lockdown...

 

Best thing about GAA:
Team bonding wkds away... never a dull moment even from the minute before ya get on the train to Glasgow... isn’t that right coughlin

 

Funniest thing: Gartlan “our then London county star” getting sick in pre season match in Newcastle after 2mins is up there!! Great team leader ??

 

Motivation quote/advice: It’s ladies night in the swan later

 

Best attribute: team player

 

Motivation song: again one to keep Cormac and Wallace happy... it have to be a wee bit of DANIEL... A good Donegal man there?

What do you miss most about home? Pints with mates and the Lurgan gossip!

Best player played with and against? Best I played with was Barry O’Hagan and Diarmaid Marsden / best against Michael Murphy & Jamie Clarke.

Who is always late? McGov and his car load!

What's the best thing you love about the Gaa? Pints with mates after a hard fought victory! What it’s all about.

 

What is the funniest thing to happen to you during a match/ training? Sprints in training last year and a bee flew into my mouth and stung back of my throat! Lynchy had me back in tackling grid 5mins

later..lucky!

There’s not a lot between a pat on the back and kick up the arse! Stay grounded.

 

What's your best attribute as a player? Speed / Stamina

Who is the Joker in the team: I like to think Dec O Mahoney and myself have a part to play in this Role.

Who is always late: Alan Griffin loves rocking up on the bike late as fuck

What's the best thing you love about the Gaa:
Shane Carty getting slagged by Cormac on a daily basis brightens up my day also.

What is the funniest thing to happen to you during a match/ training: A friend came off at half time faking a hamstring injury to go on the piss only to be cought by the manager that night sprinting home. He never started a sigerson match again.
Also McAlynn injuring himself kicking a lad up the ass on a night out is up there.

Best player played with and against?- with an on form James Gartlan ?, (doesn’t happen often) played against -muggsy

Who is the Joker in the team? - split decision - Paddy Fleming/McGovern youd need a bag of eyes to watch them.

Who is always late? McGovern if Laura and Carty didn’t wake him up and dress him he mightn’t make it to most matches

Best trainer? Mcguigan/McAlynn

Worst trainer? Gartlan, but have to give him credit this year though he was seen in Perivale running track in February.

What's the best thing you love about the Gaa? Trips to Newcastle- Lavelle getting confused between a train and a plane ?.
Glasgow- paddy Fleming jumping across the bar counter will be talked about for a while.

What is the funniest thing to happen to you during a match/ training? = McCooey causing a rukas in the scrubs against his mates from Eire og who he had played with the year before, (this was the first of many)

The pubs will be open shortly lads hold in there!

We are based in West London; the club covers a wide area and current players live in many different areas, including, Acton, Brentford, Ealing, Fulham, Greenford, Northfields, Ruislip, Harrow and Wimbledon. Transport to and from training and pick-up from stations can be arranged, if required.
